A Commitment, A Covenant, A Contract, A Promise. (NOT!)

A plan is what you want to do and the order you want to do it in.

Guess what?

Neither one will happen.

First, you won’t do things in the order you had planned.

That’s ok.

Second, you won’t do the things you planned to do.

That’s ok.

Remember, it’s a plan. Not a contract, not a commitment, not a covenant, not a promise.

Just a plan.

You didn’t make it in order to force things to happen a certain way.

You made it to order your mind.

And you ordered your mind so that it would be ready for the chaos of life.

With an ordered mind, you can respond to all the things that come up much better.

And the things that come up aren’t just external, like interruptions from others, new opportunities that arise, or bad traffic.

They’re also internal, like fluctuating energy levels, changing interests, hunger, thirst, and different moods.

Being able to take those in stride and continue making progress in your life is all about adaptation.

So you rearrange your plans. Or you drop something that wasn’t as important. Or you jump at a new opportunity and defer some planned tasks.

It’s all good.

Planning makes it possible adjust wisely.

To respond, not react.

So go plan your day.
