On Sunday during church, my seven year old daughter decided to make a plan for the rest of the day.
It is awesome.
And, it has some flaws.
But first, here’s a picture:
Let’s get the flaws out of the way, so we can focus on the best stuff.
First, it’s pretty clear that she ran out of steam after her second item.
Or maybe she wants to do cartwheels for the whole rest of the day.
Second, she put in specific times. But these are obviously not appointments. No need for times, that’s just extra work.
And that’s all the complaints I have.
Why it’s still perfect.
Ok, the thing is, little flaws like that naturally get corrected in time. You plan enough days, you realize what works and what doesn’t.
But if you don’t even plan, you never learn.
So she’s got a good start. She’ll go far, because she’s taking the time to think about how she wants to live her life.
Ok, next point: “Do Cartwheels”
How freaking awesome is that?!
Your plan can have the tedious stuff you need to do, like eat lunch. But it should also be a way to live out your dreams, to embrace your passion for life.
So go do some cartwheels.
