Cue is the tool I’m developing to make planning your day and your life easier. It’s based on the idea of a tickler file, your list of habits, and the concept of daily planning.
But right now it’s missing the boring stuff.
The stuff you just have to get right to even be a product.
For example, right now, you can’t even delete a list. Hm, let’s back up. Cue, under the covers, is just a bunch of lists. Your tickler file is a bunch of lists, your daily planning is a list (one for each day).
And right now, you can’t even delete a list. I have a ways to go, obviously.
There are lots of boring features that just need to exist in a planning tool. They don’t set it apart, they just get it to the minimum bar for anybody to even use it. Some other simple things that need to be added:
- Adding new todos to an empty list
- Links in todo items
- Moving todo items from one list to another
- Keyboard shortcuts
- Usable drag and drop (some drag and drop works, but it’s clunky)
- Moving between todos when adding new ones
- Accounts and storage (currently on Blockstack, will want other options)
- And the list goes on…
Of course, Cue isn’t just another todo app. It’s about making it easy to plan your day, and will have other features, beyond the boring stuff. Some of those other features involve boring stuff too, though, and that is another list:
- Archiving daily plans
- Rotating tickler lists
- A proper data format to make it responsive and always saved
- A template/script/routine editor
- And much more…
Anyway, to keep up to date on what’s going on, sign up for the email list.
