It’s simple, really. I spend between five and ten minutes writing down how I expect the day to play out. I just list out all of the things that I am going to make happen, in the order they should happen.
Some of them are trivial, like brushing my teeth. Or taking vitamins.
Others are involved, like working on a feature for Storyline, or going to the gym and lifting.
Some repeat day after day, like writing in my journal, or reading from a great book.
Others happen just once, like taking kids to the dentist, or picking my wife up at the hospital after surgery.
Some can be skipped or postponed, like watching TV or prepping to stain the patio.
Others are appointments that cannot be missed, like attending my son’s scout court of honor or my daughter’s dance recital.
In the end, I have a simple list outlining my day. Even if I never look at it again, my mind is now more ordered.
I am ready to tackle the day.
Are you?
