I’m on a getaway with my wife, Kami, at a beautiful ski resort.
We left our kids with her sister, and headed out, happy to have a few days to just be adults, without also being parents.
I’m looking forward to relaxing, taking naps, enjoying the outdoors, and just enjoying the break.
“There’s so much I don’t even know what to start on.”
That’s what my wife just said now that we’re here, settled, and can totally relax.
My response: “You should plan your day”.
Of course, she busts up laughing.
Here we are on vacation, loving the break from our kids and she wants to get stuff done.
That’s funny.
But she also doesn’t plan her day, she uses task lists. And she knows my stance on them.
So that’s funny too.
After we had a good laugh, we then got more serious, quite naturally, and talked pros and cons for a bit, before going our separate ways to enjoy the afternoon break.
I already know how I’ll be spending the time: writing this email, then working on the code behind Cue.
Later, we’ll go out for a nice dinner. It’s on the plan.
Happy planning!
